PostSubject: Equipment needed for comps   Fri May 21, 2010 8:18 pm

I've been slowly acquiring 'stuff' to be able to join the competition and am down to a few last things.

Seems I read somewhere you need 150' of extension cord and 150' of drinking water hose. I've seen almost 100' used for extension cord before all generators were setup. Is this a little overkill? I'm setting up an inverter system that will more than handle a couple lights, radio, etc.

Also, I'm not sure what to do about coolers. I know I need a wet and dry cooler. I'm not planning to buy a cambro so what size coolers do I need to hold meat cold and then hot when they are pulled.

    I appreciate ya'lls advice!!

    Eddie

I've rarely used more than 50 foot of hose or cord. Just depends on comp but most are close enough for 50. I've got lots of coolers all sizes usually take my big one and several smaller ones to keep meat warm is always on the grill. You should come to saluda if you are not doing anything that weekend.

I'm going to be one of those spring and fall competitors. Working for a small family business makes it impossible to schedule time off during the busy season. I can get Saturdays off if needed but Fridays, different story.

I would like to cut my teeth at a small event but in all reality, its going to be this fall if not next spring. I really want to do the CPM school before I venture out, if all possible.

    Eddie,

I have on eo fht elarge White Coolers that i keep meat cold in. I have an Igloo Cube if I want to wrap and rest Butts. I also kee p another cooler for Drinks and Stuff. . As for the Hose I have 50 feet of the White RV hose, that i hook up to a sink anf I keep 100 feet of Orange Extension . All I have needed at pretty much any contest I have been to. The Contest in Fort Mill is a pretty good one to "jump" into. usually about 20-22 teams. I would totally tell you to go to CPM school. Well worth the money I spent. Jack Russ and the gang are top notch.

Hi Eddie, I have 100 ft of the white water hose and 150 ft of orange outdoor rated extension cord. Most all of us have coolers for different things I have a BIG white cooler for Butts, Ribs. I keep a smaller one for chicken , and one for drinks. Remember a canopy as well. I am setting up a double deep basin plastic sink for cleaning and washing for when my team starts back up, with a set up for hot water as well.
I highly reccomend you go to the Carolina Pit Masters Academy before hand , it will help you alot as concerns comps. Its the best money I have ever spent.

    Hi Walter,

    Got a canopy last weekend.

Would like to see your setup for hand washing when you get it completed. Could you post some pictures? I've been think about one of those plastic utility sinks but I need to be as compact as possible.

    Thanks,

    Eddie

I have one, but i do not have hot watr on it yet. I bought it at Lowe's and the guy there helped me get all of the hardward to make it work on a hose. Was pretty easy to put together. Used it at Rock Hill for the 1st time. Really liked the ease of putting stuff in the sink. Next is one of those small hot water heaters.

Considering the above new york asian escorts mentioned, we can come to the conclusion that to give up wisely is a kind of new york escorts more mature life attitude. Though giving up sometimes is ny escorts painful and costly,in the long run what we nyc escorts gain will definitely far out weight what we lose.
