| Might be the best place in the COLA area for brisket. |

| Had lunch at Hudsons today , tried pulled pork and sliced brisket sandwhiches were excellent. The service was fast and friendly. Got 2 lbs of sliced brisket to take home so Niki and I would have something for sandwhiches later!! Will be returning there most definately. Going for the ribs and side next trip. |

| GET REAL PEOPLE! This place is AWFUL. Ask any local (WHO IS NOT TRANSPLANTED, YUPEE, YANKEE, or those who love to rub elbows with Jake Knotts or James Metts and look important) and they will point you in the right direction. Jackie Hite's or Porky D's is SO MUCH better. Unfortunately, the amateurs in Lexington and their ignorance to REAL, wood cooked BBQ are too high and mighty to give real BBQ a chance. Hudson’s is AWFUL but if you live in Lexington, it’s THE place if you want to be in the “in crowd.”
BTW- If you want great BBQ (true wood-cooked mustard based SC style) try Sweatman's in Holly Hill or Carolina BBQ in New Ellington! |

| Propane - guess some of us don't have your sensitive palate. I don't live in Lexington, or Columbia for that matter, and could care less about where a place is or who else goes there as long as I think the Q's good. |

Well the time I went there the place was packed and it was locals because I shared a long table with some friendly folks there and they loved the place. One question have you even bothered to check out thier cookers I did get the chance and took the tour, they are wood fired , the rotsiery part is powered by electricity , and the easy start is gas powered . But to each his or her own , if you dont like it dont go back , as for me I enjoied the experiance and will return. But I plan to visit the places you said. As a Master Judge with the SCBA it pays to keep a open mind. Oh and the State of South Carolina does much more than just Mustard Base BBQ sauce trust me on this. |

I couldn't agree with Walter more.South Carolina has more BBQ sauce and variations of sauce than any other state. You see very little mustard base here in the upstate.Seems like mustard stays mainly around the Columbia area and a little farther south.I love all the different styles. But,I'll be the first to say South Carolina is not " just" a mustard base state.

| I have eaten at Hudson's many times and have enjoyed it each time. With this being said, it is not the best barbecue in the Columbia area, though it may be the most accessible.
