The results from Pickin' in the Orchard have been posted on the SCBA results page. Congrats to JT's BBQ for another Grand Champion. Also congrats to Bryan of My 2 Little Pigs for a 2nd on WH, Taste of Claendon for thier great showing and all other teams that placed. It was one of the most diverse field of cookers I''ve seen in a long time with many new faces. Some of those new faces had favorable results.
I would like to thank everyone you cooked in this event. This was a first year event, that had an outstanding turn-out of 30 cookers. I was on the other side as the event coordinator, which I found to be challenging and rewarding. I tried my hardest to make this a cooker friendly event, hopefully that was the outcome. The event benefited Summerville Miracke League, and the Miracle League folks could not be happier. Congrats to everyone and thank you all.

Congrats to JT, Brian and the rest who got a call. I couldn't do this event due to a prior cooking event. I cooked about 20 butts for the graduating class at church. Got done a little early and put the meat in the oven to keep warm. No body thought to check the oven for the meat and was worried that something had happened to us. They ate sandwiches instead of the pork!!

Hopefully next year I'll be there.

Great contest Russ!! No problems that I saw and one of the most cooker friendly events I have been to. Congrats to everyone who walked and it was great cooking with some old friends. The weather held out and my kids had a great time in the kids area with all the cupcakes and cotton candy! They said thanks as well.

We are packed up and refitted, heading out to teach another BBQ class today.Pray the weather holds for this one as well! see ya on the trail.
