| Ive got a Sp1 on order and cant wait to get the call that its ready. Scott from Steel Craft smokers has sent me some pics of there builds, they look solid as a Tank. Im getting the Pneumatic tire version that way I can load it in to my Enclosed trailer. I had originally wanted a trailer mounted version but have to many trailers as it is and my wife said no go on another Trailer. If anyone on here has one or has cooked on one would love to hear any tips/suggestions or comments you may have. Im thinking about getting a ATC but havent decided for sure between BBQ Guru or a Stoker. From my research i am leaning a little towards a Stoker due to some if its features.
I look forward to hearing back from you
Thanks Brad

| There are several of us here tha cook on gravity feed cookers of varying manufacturers... They all work similarly, so we can answer questions you might have. Or we'll try anyway.
As far as Stoker vs Guru... I'm a Stoker guy for the last 1 1/2 - 2 years. But I'm a tech geek. Both are great companies and make good products. If you want basic temp control, either will work... If you want features... the Stoker is without equal. And they have a great poster-boy. https://www.rocksbarbque.com/index.html ( Click on "Luminaries", and then scroll to page 7 of 9.) |

| I appreciate the feedback guys. I have seen gravity fed charcoal style smokers (primarily Stumps Smokers) used before and am really looking forward to the fuel efficiency of the cookers. IS there much of a learning curve to these style units? I have 3 stick burners and really love cooking on them, but always having to baby sit them gets old, especially during the summer.
Thanks Brad |

| Cooked on one last year! Cooked Great, and well built! Scotty takes pride in his work, don't think you will find a better Gravity fed cooker. With care should last a lifetime! |

| From all I have seen and talked with Scotty I think he builds one Fine Cooker. I cant wait to get it home. Should only be a few more weeks. |

| Brad I think ( Maybe you should ask Scotty) that it is removalable that just fits on some brackets on the bottom. I know that it is hollow for better air flow and about 1" thick |

| Thanks Wayne, I was kinda thinking the diffuser was like that. I have emailed Scott and am waiting to hear back from him. He sent me some pics of the bottom of the cooking chamber and I could see where the Port comes through from the firebox but didnt see a Diffuser and was pretty sure that it had one. |

| Doung and I cooked with it a few times last year. 1st time out we got a 3rd with it and then a 4th in anderson. I think you will really like this unit. Scotty does a great job. He and I are talking on a new one for me. Practice iwth it until you get a feel for it. You will find that some of your cook times will decrease espically on Ribs due to how efficiant it is.

| I like Guru, Bob likes Stoker. We use both depending on who is running cookers. Bob likes to run cookers off of his iPod. I gotta admit, it is pretty cool
Good Q!
